Snow-covered mountain peaks and a sea view – Sierra Nevada

Discover Andalusia the Mexxfro way. Six physically active days lead you and your e-bike through dramatic landscapes and the famous White Villages of Andalsia – on paths scouted by us, many of which are not to be found on any maps. Enjoy the halfway mark by spending a free day in the lively city of Granada.

That’s what awaits you on your tour circling the Sierra Nevada!

DAY 1 | Almunecar – Orgiva | 66 km

Hop on the bikes!

Buenos días! After meeting your group, you will get your bike for the week, the M1 Spitzing Evolution. While test riding, you will be completely instructed and will get to know the ins and outs of these unique bikes.

To warm up, we start on nice, curvy asphalt roads. After about 20km our first off-road leg begins on gravel, where we cycle to an altitude of approximately 1,000m, on the southernly foot of the Sierra Nevada, with the snow-covered peaks always within sight.

After that it’s ups and downs until we reach our hotel in Orgiva in the late afternoon. We enjoy dinner in a beautiful restaurant in this charming spot.

DAY 2 | Orgiva – La Calahorra | 102 km

Going up

We leave Origa in the morning, heading Northeast. You cycle along lonesome roads at a speedy pace, thanks to the M1 Spitzing and the individually set electric propulsion, reaching an altitude of about 2,000 m at the mountain pass.

This route offers stunning views of mountains and valleys with visibility of up to 100 km. The ocean sparkles on the horizon. From the mountain pass, the view stretches North to the seemingly unending expanses of Andalusia. We continue to La Calahorra, where we dine together at our hotel.

DAY 3 | La Calahorra – Granada | 77 km

Off-road, towards Granada

Our path leads us West from La Calahorra. On compact gravel, our route winds on, upwards and downwards, reaching in places an altitude of 1,600m. At midday, our service van awaits us at a beautiful spot serving a picnic lunch with a view. We arrive outside Granada at late afternoon.

Leaving the bikes in good hands, we are shuttled to our hotel in the middle of the city’s old quarters. We have reserved a table at a typical local restaurant for our evening meal.

DAY 4 | Rest day in Granada

Your day in Granada

Discover Granada and its famous sights. The world heritage sites Alhambra and Albaicín, cathedrals, squares, palaces. Explore, shop, eat. A whole day for yourself. If you need any tips or have any questions –simply ask your tour guide.

DAY 5 | Granada – Los Romanes | 71 km

On to the Southwest

We really pick up pace on our “Spitzings”, dashing over dirt tracks on hilly terrain, through olive plantations and enjoy the vast expanse of Andalusia. While doing so, our path slowly ascends from 700m to about 1,100m. Finally, we begin to descend again and lose 500m altitude, cruising comfortably to our luxurious hotel, located at a beautiful lake.

Weather permitting, we enjoy our dinner this evening in the hotel’s lush gardens.

DAY 6 | Los Romanes – Malaga | 50 km

The ocean on the horizon

The last leg of our tour is demanding: the route ascends from 200m to 700 m – cycling slalom through a fascinating stone desert with several rocks on the path. At the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views, then it’s off again, descending now on wonderfully curvy, partially asphalted roads.

We cycle through the famous white village Comares, that sits spectacularly on a rock face. At 800m, we speed along a ridge where the ocean suddenly appears on the horizon. Enjoy the vast expanses on our way along the coast to Malaga, to our hotel situated directly at the harbour.

We reminisce and exchange tales and impressions from the past week over a farewell dinner that evening.
