DAY 1 | Quarteira – Quarteira | 79 km
Hop on the bikes!
Bom dia! After meeting your group, you will get your bike for the week, the M1 Spitzing Evolution. While test riding, you will be completely instructed and will get to know the ins and outs of these unique bikes.
Today we ride a round trip of about 80 km. We start in a northerly direction, on a hilly route with lots of ascents and descents. The power of your e-bike is particularly helpful on this stretch – you cycle up almost as fast as you do downwards.
The tyre’s chunky tread pattern throws up a lot of red sand, most likely giving you a mouthful from the cyclist in front of you. Wash that down with a glass of fresh orange juice, enjoyed at an altitude of 500 m, at the picnic set up by our service van personnel. After that, we take a different, multifaceted route back to our hotel.
DAY 2 | Vilamour – Monchique | 72 km
To the northwest
After a delicious breakfast, it’s back on the saddles. We ride in a northwest direction, starting off on flat terrain, through orange, fig, almond and olive plantations.
From Silves, it gets hillier. Enjoy the silence and expanse of this countryside on deserted tracks. In the afternoon, we reach our 5 star accommodation in the lovely town of Monchique, where we will also dine that evening.
DAY 3 | Monchique – Aljezur | 73 km
Nature at its best
From Monchique, we ride a triangular route. Firstly over hills and valleys towards the northwest and the sea, a beautiful stretch immersed in nature. From Odeceixe, we change directions and head South, riding through nature reserve to Aljezur, where we set up camp for the night in a comfortable, family-run hotel.
DAY 4 | Aljezur – Lagos | 95 km
The magnificent coast
Riding along the coastline, we head from Aljezur towards Lagos. This exciting route offers wild and rugged rocky landscapes, great views, and dirt tracks with lots of climbs and descents.
Around noon, we take a break at the end of the world, at Cabo Sao Vicente (Cape St. Vincent), with its famous lighthouse, where you can treat yourself to “the last hotdog before America”, if you wish. We continue eastwards along the beautiful coast, to Lagos, where we check into our hotel at the yacht harbour. We dine in the town’s historic centre.
DAY 5 | Rest day in Lagos
Your day in Lagos
Discover Lagos and its beautifully preserved old quarters. Explore, shop, eat, or enjoy the sea’s beauty with a drink and a smile. A whole day for yourself. If you need any tips or have any questions –simply ask your tour guide.
DAY 6 | Lagos – Quarteira | 101 km
Last leg
From Lagos, we ride on red sand and dirt tracks heading northwest. Around 20km north of Silves, we reach the highest part of this leg, approx. 300m. After a picnic, it’s off again on a hilly and, towards the end, very curvy road towards the South and Vilamoura, where we end our tour in the 5 star hotel we know from our journeys’ begin.
